Bitter Flesh Thing Promises Live Suicide Attempt
While Showcasing at Philadelphia Music Conference

Artist Already Banned From Clubs in Philly

Controversial band Bitter Flesh Thing (BFT) from Rochester, NY has been asked to showcase at the prestigious Philadelphia Music Conference being held January 19-22, 2000. They have been given a premier slot playing at The New Market Cabaret on Saturday the 22nd at 1am. As if this wasn't enough, lead singer Zazu Pitts vows to attempt suicide at some point during the show.

When asked what the reason was for the suicide attempt, Pitts replied, "Some people aren't afraid to die." This definitely seems to be the case since Pitts was nearly strangled by a disillusioned fan at one of their recent shows.

BFT is no stranger to controversy having nearly incited a riot on the 1998 Vans Warped Tour. Even more recently, the band ran into trouble with the law by playing porn on stage in front of an under age audience. This and other antics have gotten BFT banned from venues in Rochester and Philadelphia.

Suicide attempts are illegal, yet committing the actual act is not (since there isn't anybody left to charge). It will soon be seen whether anyone can be charged after BFT's showcase.
